Latest Work and News

August 2025

An occasional newsletter about recent, current and upcoming work from my studio.

We've been spending July and August in New York, but looking forward to returning to Brighton in early September.

Alone Together, Together Alone

I continued developing a book version of Modern Romance and have created a new printed book dummy, updating the layout and the text and altering the title to Alone Together, Together Alone: A Modern Romance. And, I'm thrilled to have been selected for the UCA x Oxford Photo Folio Award which will provide me valuable feedback later this year.

Landscape of Inequality

I'm taking advantage of my time in New York this summer to make progress on the CRUX - Landscape of Inequality project I mentioned in April's newsletter. Collaborating with elementary school classmates of mine from Upper Yorkville and East Harlem, several of whom have family ties to important community programs from the '60s. I was able to spend time with classmate and artist, Peter Calvert, and his brother Jon, walking the streets of his childhood in the 100℉ (38℃) heat before attending a marvelous event, "Celebrating East Harlem and the release of “Aida’s Story” by Thomas L. Webber," author, also, of Flying Over 96th Street, his memoir of growing up white in East Harlem. While there I was fortunate to meet a number of other East Harlem stalwarts who I hope to be able to collaborate with on the project.

Another Layer

I was thrilled to participate in Work Show Grow's June work-in-progress show, Another Layer at the ASC, County Courts, in London in June. I showed work from my in-progress projects, Neither Here nor There and Word.

Over on my blog, obBLOGato, I've continued posting photographs from my daily peregrinations around Brighton and surroundings over April - July, only now getting to a few images from my time in New York.
