and upcoming work from my studio.

The Honoring Eye

If you'll be in New York this Autumn you'll have an opportunity to see my work at an upcoming group show, "The Honoring Eye," at the Terrain Gallery on Greene Street in SoHo. I first showed work here back in 2011 and am excited to be back. Watch this space for further details.

I was fortunate to get a photographer's press pass to shoot Brighton Fringe shows this year. Unfortunately May was such a busy month I only managed to get to very few events, but was able to capture some of the flavour of the Fringe.

u3a Camera Photography Group

u3a is one of the largest membership organisations in the UK. Its members come together to learn for fun in retirement making friends and finding community. In April I conducted the inaugural session of a new camera photography group for Brighton and Hove members. We had a lively presentation from photographer Tony Tree, followed by a look at dividing the frame and frames within the frame and then went out to shoot. In May, we looked at the point (single points, two points and multiple points) and the line (horizontal, vertical, and diagonal) and how they contribute to the design of an image.

Bristol Artist’s Book Event (BABE)

University for the Creative Arts' bookRoom, under the direction of Emmanuelle Waeckerlé, will be taking part in BABE 2026

book fair at Spike Island in Bristol from Fri 26 Sat 27 June 2026, exhibiting and selling the photobook and zine works of recent and current BA, MA Photo graduate and PhD students, including my Alone Together, Together Alone.

Brighton: A City of Edges

A week ago I participated in Laura El-Tantawy's studio lab weekender at POST, here in Hove. The 1-day session was From Work to World with Nina Emett of FotoDocument - it was an excellent, full day, covering image sequencing, project funding and, critically, significant time dedicated to reviewing our projects. I received valuable feedback during the session from both Nina and Laura on my project, Gentrification in East Harlem, with detailed written follow-up recommendations on taking the project forward. In July, I'll be attending 1-day session with Harry Hardie of Here Press, exploring sequencing, bookmaking and process, focused on structure, rhythm and how a body of work begins to take shape as a form in itself.

Urban Nature - Hidden Gardens

I'll also be participating with a mini-print in Lu Mazen's Urban Nature project at Gallery Graf Rumford in Munich, Germany from the 19th - 25th October. The exhibit is held in conjunction with Lu's soon to be released book, Garden Escapes.

obBLOGato

On my blog, obBLOGato, in June you can expect to see images from last month's visit to Farnham, time at Photo London at Olympia, the Brighton Artists' Open Houses in May, press photos from the Brighton Fringe and some images from shooting with my u3a Camera Photography group colleagues.
