October Bi-Monthly Photography Studio Newsletter

Latest Work and News

October 2025

An occasional newsletter about recent, current and upcoming work from my studio.

We're delighted to be back in Brighton (well, Hove, actually) since early September.

On Broadway

Since 2004 I've been photographing people plying their trades and living their lives on Broadway in New York. There's a startlingly wide array of people, doing all sorts of things, up and down Broadway. This past summer in NY, I returned to the project, bringing it up to date and adding night photography, particularly in the Times Square area. To see a flip-book of images, click here.

Landscape of Inequality

While in NY I also completed the principal photography for my look at gentrification in East Harlem. I was fortunate enough to be on East 100th Street for the annual block party and record the vast change in the street since Bruce Davidson famously captured it in the 1960s when I lived a few blocks away and classmates who have collaborated with me on the project, lived right on the street, once called "the worst street in America."

The Power of Conscious Ageing

I'm delighted to be participating, in the launch of Adam Duncan & Georgie Lee's new book, The Power in Conscious Ageing on Thursday 4th December 2.00 - 3.30 at Fabrica (40 Duke Street, Brighton BN1 1AG). I'll be exhibiting images from my Modern Romance project at the event,

The Power of Conscious Ageing is an invitation to embrace ageing not as decline, but as a sacred rite of passage — one rooted in both wisdom and courage, compassion and innovation.

Woven with personal stories, real-life interviews, breathwork pauses, and ten powerful questions, this book will offer both a spiritual lens and a practical roadmap for entering elderhood with courage, dignity, and renewed purpose. This is not anti-ageing. This is pro-human. Pro-integrity. Pro-wisdom. Pro-freedom.

Photo Oxford

I was thrilled to be selected as one of three recent graduates from University for the Creative Arts, Farnham to be awarded a Photo Oxford Festival Portfolio Review. The festival is running from the 25th of this month till the 16th of November and I'll be preparing for reviews of Modern Romance and one other project portfolio.

Meanwhile, over on my blog, obBLOGato, October starts with images from April of a day trip to the town of Worthing and a ramble from Steyning to the Chanctonbury Ring in the South Downs.
